PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite were unexpectedly banned by the Indian government in September 2020. However, the game returned as Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) in July 2021. BGMI does not have a Chinese application and is the Indian version of the game, designed for the Indian battle royale mobile gaming community. Similarly, Free Fire players in India are also demanding the Indian version of the battle royale game. The reason the release of Free Fire Indian version is not urgent is because players can still enjoy the battle royale game on their devices. Players will be able to do so as the servers are still live. The advanced version of the game Free Fire Max is also available for download for Android mobile gamers.

Furthermore, Garena has given his players hope that it will make a comeback soon.
